No Haircuts for Mom

So, apparently, Wyatt has caught on to the fact that I do not have your average head of hair. He however, likes it for MUCH different reasons than the guys I date.

Driving home tonight...
Wyatt: Mom, I had a really nice haircut tonight. (He got it cut last week)
Me: Yes, you did. Mommy needs to get a haircut too!
Wyatt: NO MOMMY! NO! I don't want you to get a hair cut! You crazy hair and I don't want you to cut it because I want you to have crazy hair!

So... there you have it. No haircuts for me, because apparently, Wyatt is really attached to my crazy head of hair. :) (I am too I guess.)

So, no hair cut before my weekend trips! Thursday I am flying in to Utah for 12 hours. Hot date. We'll see how it goes. Then, back to PHX by Friday morning to hit the road with Martie and Nicole for Girls Weekend!!! I'll be blogging about something on Monday I'm sure. Here are the potential plot lines:

1. Blogging about "Random Utah Guy" as he refers to himself. - Good date, planning on the next.
2. Blogging about "Random Utah Guy". - Bad date, what went wrong and why it was all HIS fault! ;)
3. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED IN VEGAS THIS WEEKEND?! (except that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - so option 3 is less likely).

Tune in next week to see which one it will be. :) It's like "choose your own adventure" from grade school, right?! haha

Quote of the Day

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
- Eleanor Roosevelt

I heard this today and man, it got me thinking. How true is this?! I have a new/improved attitude for today! Now, let's just see if I can carry it with me through the week! LOL

So, for those of you that remember "The Jacker" or "The Donger", she and I have been getting reconnected this week! So fun to catch up with old friends. She has a blog too! And chances are, she is stalking yours! (She's an admitted blog stalker). Check her out: http://jgverdine4.blogspot.com/

On another note, my hair is also REALLY happy to have found her again. :)

Soldiers Rule!

For those of you that don't know, Ashley's husband (Erick Ritterby) is a solider in the US Army! He's awesome, and we all love him! Especially Wyatt! So, in the spirit of honoring him, Wyatt is going to be a soldier for Halloween. This makes him EXTREMELY happy. He asks every day if he can wear his 'uniform'. I however deny him because let's face it...the kid is a huge slob and it will be ruined by the time Halloween rolls around.

Wyatt asked the other night where Uncle Erick was... and I told him he was in Kuwait. A few years ago he served in Iraq. Wyatt said he wanted to go to Kuwait. I'm pretty sure the kid has ZERO clue what that entails. :) At any rate, this post is to honor Uncle Erick and show off the cute costume that Ashley picked up for Wyatt on base! How darling, right??!!

This is Wyatt and Erick on Christmas Eve 2007. Wyatt could not get enough of him!

Here are the costume pics...

We love you Uncle Erick! Take care and be safe, and know that Wyatt is going to 'represent' this Halloween!

Bad Mommy

Wyatt and I were headed to the grocery store today to pick up a few things for his birthday party tomorrow. He, of course, was singing about poop, so I made an attempt to change the conversation. Here is the result:

Me: Wyatt, do you love your preschool class?
Wyatt: Yes, poop.
Me: Do you have lots of new friends?
Wyatt: Yes, I have poopy friends.
Me: How many?
Wyatt: One, two, Phree, Bour, Bive (yes, we have pronunciation issues)
Me: Oh really? What are thier names?
Wyatt: Unnnnnnnn eeeeeeeeeeeeee Maggie, ............ Lisa................ Marge.

It wasn't until I heard MARGE that I caught on. Damn those Simpsons.

And for those of you baffled by the word POOP inserted into the conversation, see blog below.

The NEW four letter word.

POOP. Yes, for those of you with boys, I'm sure you can relate. At least I hope you can, because I am SLOWLY going insane listening to the word POOP. To be quite honest, I don't think I've ever heard a little girl latch on to the word and show pride using it. At least not like my son has. Wyatt loves the word poop. It accompanies just about every sentence, song, or thought the kid has. And I'm going to SNAP. Driving home in the car tonight, song comes on the radio. The Fray. How To Save a Life. Good song, ...usually. Wyatt decides to chime in. .... How to save a POOP. This is not the first time his singing has taken this sort of turn. The other day he was singing one of his songs... Twinkle twinkle little star POOP. Am I the only mommy with this problem? Don't think it's limited to this form either. During our drive tonight, he also asked if he could have a "POOPY cookie" when we got home. Every FRIGGIN sentence out of his mouth has got it. I'm so done. I've begun threatening the soap. I'm not entirely sure he knows what all that entails, because he still chuckles at me when I say it....but one of these days, it's gonna happen. AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH I suppose there are worse things he could be saying, but come on. How many times a day do I have to hear the word POOP inserted into a sentence or song at random??? Ugh. Living with 2 boys is taking it's toll! :) Oh yeah, I'll also share a small snippet of the conversation I got to listen to earlier this evening between the boys...

Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP
Wyatt: poop
Chase: POOP

Good times. And I couldn't even smack 'em cuz I was drivin'!

Insert something clever here.

ummmmmmmmmmmm
